CHAPTER 406
(Senate Bill 5)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 12H(b)
of Article 14B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition
and 1966 Supplement), title "State Boat Act," changing the
limitations placed on the amounts which the Department of Ches-
apeake Bay Affairs may expend from the Waterways Improvement
Fund.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 12H(b) of Article 14B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition and 1966 Supplement), title "State Boat Act,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

12H.

(b) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) above, the
Department may in any fiscal year expend a total sum from the
Waterways Improvement Fund of not to exceed [$75,000] $150,000
without legislative approval and of this amount, (1) the sum of
[$50,000] $125,000 may be expended for small projects under
Sections 12F(d) and (e), subject to the limitation that no one
single project of this kind shall exceed [$2,000] $5,000 in cost to
the State of Maryland; and (2) the sum of $25,000 shall be ex-
pended for boating safety and education.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1967.

Approved April 21, 1967.

CHAPTER 407
(Senate Bill 12)

AN ACT to add new Section 175B to Article 48A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Insurance,"
subtitle "11. Agents and Brokers," and to follow immediately after
Section 175A thereof, permitting the Commissioner to require that
restitution be made by an agent or broker to any person who has
been financially injured as a result of the violation of any provision
of the Insurance Code.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 175B be and it is hereby added to Article 48A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title
"Insurance," subtitle "11. Agents and Brokers," to follow immedi-
ately after Section 175A thereof, and to read as follows:

175B.

In lieu of, OR IN ADDITION TO, suspension or revocation of the
license of an agent or broker, the Commissioner may require thai
restitution be made to any citizen who has suffered financial injury
or damage as a result of the violation of any provisions of this Article.
