CHAPTER 83
(House Bill 819)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 51 (g)
of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replace-
ment Volume), title "County Commissioners," subtitle "County
Treasurer," to change the salary of the County Treasurer of
Charles County, to limit the salary of the Deputy Treasurer and to
provide for appointment of clerical assistants by the Charles
County Treasurer.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 51 (g) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1966 Replacement Volume), title "County Commissioners," subtitle
"County Treasurer," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

51.

(g) The county treasurer of Charles County shall receive an
annual salary of [$7,000.00] $9,000.00. The salary of the deputy
treasurer shall not exceed $7,000.00 nor be less than $5,000.00 per
annum. In Charles County, clerical assistants shall be appointed by
the County Treasurer of said County.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the change in salary herein
provided for the County Treasurer shall not apply to the incumbent
in office on June 1, 1967, but shall apply only to the County Treasurer
next assuming office.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 84
(House Bill 861)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 69 of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement
Volume and 1966 Supplement), title "Public Education," subtitle
"District School Trustees," to provide that the Charles County
Board of Commissioners may appoint an auditor of their own selec-
tion to audit the books and accounts of the County Superintendent
of Schools and of the County Board of Education.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 69 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Replacement Volume and 1966 Supplement), title "Public Edu-
cation," subtitle "District School Trustees," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

69.
