(a) In addition to the justices of the peace and justices of the
peace at large hereinbefore specified, the Governor, by and with the
advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint one justice of the
peace at large for each county of the State, except Anne Arundel,
Harford, Montgomery, Prince George's, Kent, Charles and Wash-
ington counties, who shall be designated "substitute trial magis-
trate." Such magistrate shall post the bond required of trial magis-
trates and shall receive a salary of $100.00 per year, except there
shall be five substitute magistrates appointed for Baltimore County,
each of whom shall receive $2,000.00 per year in addition to the com-
pensation received when actually sitting as a substitute as herein-
after provided, and except the substitute magistrate appointed for
Somerset County, who shall receive one thousand dollars ($1,000.00)
per year in addition to the compensation received when actually
sitting as a substitute, as hereinafter provided and except the sub-
stitute magistrate appointed for Cecil County, who shall receive
$300.00 per year in addition to the compensation received when
actually sitting as a substitute, as hereinafter provided.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 119(f) of said
Article 52, be and it is hereby repealed.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 82
(House Bill 818)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 10E (a)
(3) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Re-
placement Volume), title "County Commissioners," to provide for
the appointment of the building inspector and assistants in Charles
County by the County Commissioners.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 10E (a) (3) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume), title "County Commissioners,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
10E.
(a) (3) The Charles County [planning and zoning commission]
Commissioners shall appoint a building inspector for the county and
such assistant inspectors as may be required at the salaries fixed in
the annual county budget. The inspectors shall enforce the building
code and in addition shall enforce the rules and regulations adopted
by the commission.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.
