ties comprising the district; and in the event any committee in the
district does not approve of the choice of the other committees in the
district, the vacancy shall be filled by the State Central Committee
for the State of the party.

(c)    All other such vacancies shall be filled by the State Central
Committee of the political subdivision.

(d)    The provisions of this section shall not apply to the filling of
vacancies, as specified in Section 9-2 of this Article, nor to special
elections held to fill vacancies in office caused by death, resignation
or otherwise.

4-6. 4A-5. When to fill vacancy in nomination: Primary Election.

In case of any vacancy which may exist in respect to a candidate
for any officer elected by the voters by reason of there being no candi-
date of a political party to file for the same in the primary election,
the State Central Committee, or governing body, authorized to fill
such vacancy shall file the certificate of nomination with the Secretary
of State, or the board, as the case may be, not later than the tenth day
after the date on which candidates may withdraw their candidacy
before the primary election.

4-7. 4A-6. Fees, filing fees.

(a)    Each candidate for nomination to public office at a primary
election shall pay the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25) for each THE
county or legislative district of Baltimore City in which his name
appears upon the ballot except as may be otherwise provided in this
section. In any county where the salary of the office for which nomi-
nation is sought is three hundred dollars ($300) or less, such payment
shall be ten dollars ($10). All such payments shall be made to the
person with whom the certificate is filed and shall accompany the
certificate. At a primary election each candidate as a delegate to the
State convention or as a member of the State Central Committee,
executive committee of any party or other party committee, shall pay
the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) upon filing his certificate with the
board.

(b)    Candidates for Governor, the United States Senate, Comp-
troller, and Attorney General, upon filing their respective certificates
with the Secretary of State, shall each pay to him the sum of two
hundred and ninety dollars ($290).

(c)    Candidates for the House of Representatives of the Congress
of the United States shall each pay to the Secretary of State the sum
of one hundred dollars ($100) upon filing such certificates.

(d)    Candidates for State Senator shall each pay the sum of fifty
dollars ($50) TO THE SECRETARY OF STATE THE SUM OF
FIFTY DOLLARS ($50) UPON FILING SUCH CERTIFICATES.

(e)    Candidates nominated by primary meeting and petition must
pay the fee in accordance with the foregoing conditions.

4-8. 4A-7. Return of filing fees.

(a) In the event that the name of any candidate who has paid a
filing fee to any board or to the Secretary of State as hereinabove pro-
