(a-1) In addition to the provisions of Subsection (a) of this
section, the County Commissioners may appropriate and levy
annually an additional sum not to exceed seven thousand dollars
($7,000.) for the use of the organized volunteer fire companies of
Somerset County. If this sum is appropriated and levied, it shall be
divided into five parts and paid annually to the treasurers of the
following companies in these amounts: Crisfield Volunteer Fire
Company, two thousand dollars ($2,000.); Princess Anne Volunteer
Fire Company, two thousand dollars ($2,000.); Marion Volunteer
Fire Company, fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500.); Deal's Island—
Chance Volunteer Fire Company, one thousand dollars ($1,000.);
and Ewell Fire Department, Inc., of Smith's Island, five hundred
dollars ($500.). If a sum less than seven thousand dollars ($7,000.)
is appropriated and levied in any year under the provisions of this
section, it shall be divided among the several organized volunteer
fire companies in a ratio approximately equal to the ratio of the
figures hereinabove in this subsection.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1,1967.

(House Bill 1029)
AN ACT to add new Section 122A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Calvert County (1963 Edition, being Article 5 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Calvert County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," to follow immediately after Section 122
thereof, to create the Calvert County Governmental Study Com-
mission, to fix its members, powers and duties and time of report-
ing in studying the structure of county government for the pur-
poses stated in this Act.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 122A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Calvert County (1963 Edition, being Article 5
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Calvert
County," subtitle "County Commissioners," to follow immediately
after Section 122 thereof, and to read as follows:
122A.
(a) The Calvert County Governmental Study Commission is
hereby created for the purpose of studying and making recommenda-
tions concerning the adequacy of the governmental structure of
Calvert County, county facilities, and the compensation of county
officers and employees. The Commission shall be composed of eleven
(11) persons who shall serve without compensation. Commission
members shall be selected and appointed by the joint action of the
Board of County Commissioners and the State Senator and member
of the House of Delegates elected from the County. One of the
