CHAPTER 310
(House Bill 854)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 98A
(a) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966
Supplement), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial Magis-
trates System," increasing the number and term of the Judges
of the People's Court of Prince George's County and providing
that the two incumbent judges shall be appointed to the new in-
creased term.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 98A(a) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1966 Supplement), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle
"Trial Magistrates System," be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
98A.
(a) [As of January 1, 1962] As of July 1, 1967, the Governor
of Maryland, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate,
shall appoint [two] three judges of the People's Court of Prince
George's County who shall meet the qualifications provided in this
section for a term of [four] ten years or until their successors are
appointed and qualified.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the two incumbent full-
time judges in office on the effective date of this Act shall be ap-
pointed by the Governor of Maryland for the term specified herein,
by and with the advice and consent of the Senate.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

and (c) of Section 1(63) of Chapter 780 of the Laws of Mary-
land, 1959, (being also Section 59-68, Title "Park and Planning
Commission," Subtitle "District Plan Generally," Code of Public
Local Laws, Prince George's County, 1963 Edition, and Section
70-74, Title "Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Com-
mission," Subtitle "District Plan Generally," Montgomery County
