by said judge from the State of Maryland, said payments to be made
from and after June 1, 1959, in equal monthly installments, and the
said County Commissioners are hereby authorized and directed to
levy upon the assessable property of the said county a tax sufficient
to pay the aforesaid amounts. This subsection applies only to judges
who were serving in such positions prior to July 1st, 1963.
(b) The County Commissioners are also authorized to pay to any
judge of the Circuit Court for the Third Judicial Circuit who resides
in Harford County and who was appointed and qualified on or after
July 1st, 1963, the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000) in addi-
tion to the salary received by such judge from the State, The County
Commissioners are hereby authorized to levy upon the assessable
property of the County a tax sufficient to pay such amounts.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1967.
SEC. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT IF SENATE
BILL NO. 502 (CHAPTER NO.................) OR ANY OTHER BILL
OR GENERAL LAW (CHAPTER NO.................) IS ENACTED
INTO LAW BY THE 1967 SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEM-
BLY, OR BY ANY FUTURE SESSION OF THE GENERAL AS-
SEMBLY, ENACTING A STATEWIDE OR GENERAL CHANGE
IN THE LAWS RELATING TO SALARIES PAID TO JUDGES
(AND INCLUDING THOSE IN HARFORD COUNTY), THIS ACT
IS VOID AND OF NO FURTHER EFFECT.
SEC. 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT SUBJECT
TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 3 OF THIS ACT, THIS ACT
SHALL TAKE EFFECT ON JULY 1, 1967.

AN ACT to add new Section 52B to Article 26 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume), title "Courts," sub-
title "Pensions of Judges and Their Widows," to follow immedi-
ately after Section 50A thereof, providing that the County Com-
missioners of Harford County shall pay a pension or salary to cer-
tain retired judges, and relating generally to the amount of and
procedures applicable to this payment; AND MAKING THE
EFFECTIVENESS OF THIS ACT DEPENDENT UPON A
CERTAIN CONTINGENCY.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 52B be and it is hereby added to Article 26 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume), title
"Courts," subtitle "Pensions of Judges and Their Widows," to follow
immediately after Section 50A thereof, and to read as follows:
