Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act, being necessary
for the welfare of the inhabitants of Prince George's County, shall
be liberally construed to effect the purposes hereof. All Acts and
parts of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby
repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1,1967.

(House Bill 603)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 32-8
(r) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County
(1963 Edition, being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Prince George's County," subtitle "Fire Com-
panies," amending the local laws concerning fire companies in
Prince George's County with particular respect to the distribu-
tion of the proceeds of the fire tax in the 15th Election District.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 32-8(r) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1963 Edition, being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Prince George's County,"
subtitle "Fire Companies," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

32-8.

(r) In the Fifteenth Election District (Mellwood), the proceeds
of said tax shall be [divided and paid by the County Commissioners
every six months to the respective Treasurers of the following com-
panies in the amounts specified: (1) The Forestville Volunteer Fire
Department, Inc., 25%; (2) The Marlboro Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment, Inc., 25%; (3) The Volunteer Fire Department of Brandy-
wine, Maryland, Inc., 25%; and (4) The Clinton Volunteer Fire
Department, Inc.; 25%] paid by the County Commissioners every year
to the Treasurer of the Ritchie Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.
When another company or companies are organized in the 15th
district, said proceeds shall be divided equally among said fire com-
panies.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.
