and to fix the penalties for this offense.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 313BA be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1966 Supplement),
title "Crimes and Punishments," subtitle "Crimes and Punishments,"
subheading "Health—Amphetamines," to follow immediately after
Section 313B thereof, and to read as follows:

313BA.

(a)    The sale, barter, peddling, exchange, dispensing or supplying
to
a minor ANY PERSON OR PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 21

of any amphetamine OR BARBITURATES for which a prescription
is required without the presentation of a prescription therefor is
unlawful.

(b)    Violation of this section is a felony and is subject upon con-
viction to a fine of not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000) or
imprisonment for not less than three years nor more than twenty
TEN years.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 216
(House Bill 193)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 97 of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement
Volume), title "Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 7, Schools."
to make days on which State primary elections are held holidays
for the public schools of the State, and to make days of general
elections a holiday in the schools in Wicomico County, and to
correct the designation of the holiday observed on November 11
of each year, and to make other corrections.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 97 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Replacement Volume), title "Public Education," subtitle
"Chapter 7. Schools," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

97.

The school year shall be divided into four terms, which shall be
designated fall term, winter term, spring term, and summer term;
and the time of beginning and closing each term shall be regulated
by the county board of education; provided, that the financial re-
ports of the schools of the State shall be made up and rendered
to the thirtieth day of June, inclusive of each and every year; and
