Commission shall have been allowed a reasonable time, not more than
three (3) months, for consideration and report.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 171

(Senate Bill 157)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 521 (b)
of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition
and 1966 Supplement), title and subtitle "Crimes and Punish-
ments", subheading "Sabbath Breaking", to prohibit the sale or
disposal of motor vehicles on Sunday in Anne Arundel County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 521 (b) of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition and 1966 Supplement), title and subtitle "Crimes
and Punishments", subheading "Sabbath Breaking", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

521.

(b) In Anne Arundel County, in addition to the articles of mer-
chandise hereinbefore mentioned, retailers may sell, barter, deal in
and deliver on Sunday the following articles of merchandise: butter,
eggs, cream, soap and other detergents, disinfectants, vegetables,
meats, and all other food or foodstuffs prepared or intended for
human or household pet consumption, automobile accessories and
parts, boating and fishing accessories, artificial and natural flowers
and shrubs, toilet goods, hospital supplies, thermometers, camera
films, souvenirs, surgical instruments, rubber goods, paper goods,
drugs, medicines, patent medicines, and all other articles used for
the relief of pain or prescribed by a physician; provided, however,
that nothing in this subtitle shall be construed to prevent the opera-
tion of any retail establishment on Sunday, the operation of which
does not entail the employment of more than one person, not includ-
ing the owner or proprietor. Every market or department store in
which stalls or departments are rented or concessions given to in-
dividual merchants or vendors shall be considered as one establish-
ment and each stall or department thereof is not a separate establish-
ment. Nothing in this subsection shall be construed to allow any
person or retailer to sell, dispose of, barter, deal in, deliver, give
away, show, or offer for sale any motor vehicle or any certificate
of title for any motor vehicle on Sunday.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.
