Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and 1966
Supplement), title "Insurance," subtitle "Miscellaneous," to follow
immediately after Section 488 thereof, and to read as follows:
489.
For the purposes of disability insurance, standard health and
accident, sickness and other insurance policies, a chiropractic physi-
cian, duly licensed to practice in the State of Maryland, shall be
entitled to compensation for his THOSE services WHICH HE IS
LICENSED TO PERFORM UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF AR-
TICLE 43 AND WHICH HE HAS rendered to any insured.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 161
(House Bill 547)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 503(a),
508, and 512 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Replacement Volume), title "Health," subtitle "Chiro-
practic," to provide changes in the educational requirements of
applicants for license as chiropractors and to increase their quali-
fications and fee for renewal of a license and to increase the fee to
license a person already licensed outside of this State.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 503(a), 508, and 512 of Article 43 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Health," sub-
title "Chiropractic," be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
503.
(a) Any person wishing to practice chiropractic in this State,
before it shall be lawful for him to do so, shall make application
to said Board of Chiropractic Examiners, through the secretary-
treasurer thereof, upon form thereof and in such manner as to be
adopted and directed by the Board, at least twenty (20) days prior
to any meeting of said Board. The Board may admit to the qualify-
ing examinations for the practice of chiropractic in Maryland any
graduate of a chiropractic school or college, the curriculum, teach-
ing standards, and facilities of which are approved by the said
Board; in which the minimum course for the granting of a degree
of Doctor of Chiropractic (D. C.) is four academic years, comprising
not fewer than four thousand (4,000) sixty-minute hours of resi-
dent study; and must also submit certified transcripts of records
showing the satisfactory completion of two full academic years of
college work in a university or college approved by the Maryland
State Department of Education. This college credit shall include
completed and satisfactory credits in the sciences of biology, chem-
istry and physics [.], OR any combination of any two of the three.
