1966, Ch. 517—Chesapeake Bay Bridge

I, Lloyd L. Simpkins, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 (c) of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition), Do
Hereby Certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 8, 1966, an Act known as Chapter 517 of the
Acts of 1966, was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland,
pursuant to the provisions of Article 16 of the Constitution of the
State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Sections 120,
122(e), 123(a), 126(a) and (b), 129(a) and (b), 136 and 137
of Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edi-
tion and 1964 Replacement Volume), title "State Roads," sub-
title "Bridge, Tunnel and Motorway Revenue Bonds," author-
izing among other toll facilities which may be constructed, the
construction of a toll bridge across the Chesapeake Bay gen-
erally parallel to the existing Chesapeake Bay Bridge and
amending the law relating to the application and use of revenue
derived from tolls to provide funds for paying the cost of re-
placements, renewals and improvements, and relating generally
to toll facilities, excluding the John F. Kennedy Memorial High-
way, in the State.

and i do certify that at said election 248,942 votes were cast in
favor of the adoption of Chapter 517 of the Acts of 1966, and 289,418
votes were cast against the adoption of said Chapter 517 of the Acts
of 1966, the said Act has therefore failed of ratification.

In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my official seal at the City of Annapolis
this 9th day of December, 1966.
