I, Lloyd L. Simpkins, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 (c) of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition), Do
Hereby Certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 8, 1966, an Act known as Chapter 641 of the
Acts of 1965, was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland,
pursuant to the provisions of Article 14 of the Constitution of the
State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:
AN ACT to propose an amendment to Section 21 of Article 2 of
the Constitution of Maryland, title "Executive Department"
increasing the annual salary of the Governor and correcting
the wording of this section, and providing that this amend-
ment shall be submitted to the qualified voters of the State for
their adoption or rejection.
and I DO certify that at said election 249,119 votes were cast in
favor of the adoption of Chapter 641 of the Acts of 1965, and 229,400
votes were cast against the adoption of said Chapter 641 of the Acts
of 1965, the said Act has therefore been ratified by a majority of the
qualified voters of the State of Maryland.
In Testimony Whereof, 1 have nereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my official seal at the City of Annapolis,
this 9th day of December, 1966.
