MONTHS. This period may be extended for an additional [ninety
days] one year SIX MONTHS with the approval of the Bank Com-
missioner. A credit union may loan to or borrow from any other
credit union.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 705
(Senate Bill 699)
AN ACT to empower and authorize the County Commissioners of
Carroll County, notwithstanding Chapter 521 of the Laws of
1931 to utilize a certain amount of water from Liberty Reservoir
and tributaries of the Patapsco River within that County, and to
provide that said County Commissioners shall pay the cost of
certain expenses incurred in connection with such utilisation. TO
CONSTRUCT A RESERVOIR OR IMPOUNDMENT ON THE
PINEY RUN TRIBUTARY OF THE SOUTH BRANCH OF THE
PATAPSCO RIVER IN CARROLL COUNTY FOR CERTAIN
PURPOSES AND SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That notwithstanding any provisions of Chapter 521 of the Laws
of 1931, the County Commissioners of Carroll County are hereby
authorized and empowered to utilize up to ten million (10,000,000)
gallons of raw water daily from the confines of Liberty Reservoir
and any raw water in any of the tributaries of the Patapsco River,
which are within Carroll County. The cost for pumping, treating,
and distributing said water shall be paid by the County Commis-
sioners of Carroll County. CONSTRUCT A RESERVOIR OR IM-
POUNDMENT ON THE PINEY RUN TRIBUTARY OF THE
SOUTH BRANCH OF THE PATAPSCO RIVER IN CARROLL
COUNTY FOR THE USE OF FLOOD CONTROL, WATER SUP-
PLY, OR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES; PROVIDED, HOW-
EVER, THAT CARROLL COUNTY MUST RELEASE WATER
FROM THE DAM OR IMPOUNDMENT IN THE REQUIRED
QUANTITIES TO MAINTAIN A MINIMUM STREAM FLOW IN
AN AMOUNT DETERMINED BY THE MARYLAND DEPART
MENT OF WATER RESOURCES CITY OF BALTIMORE AS
NECESSARY TO INSURE THE CONTINUANCE OF THE CON-
TRIBUTION OF THE TRIBUTARY TO THE PATAPSCO
RIVER IN THE SAME AMOUNT AS PRIOR TO THE BUILDING
OF SUCH DAM OR IMPOUNDMENT.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.
