Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 86 be and it is hereby added to Article 75 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title
"Pleadings, Practice and Process at Law," subtitle "Process, to
follow immediately after Section 85 thereof, and to read as follows:
86.
Whenever process is served on a defendant in a criminal case, the
process server shall leave with such defendant a copy of such process.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

(House Bill 1113)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 78 of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and
1966 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Rights
and Duties of Licensees," providing a procedure for the transfer
of alcoholic beverage licenses in Charles County upon the death
of a spouse, or a licensee holding said license for the benefit of a
partnership or corporation.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 78 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition and 1966 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages,"
subtitle "Rights and Duties of Licensees," be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
78.
(a) Upon the death of the holder of any license issued under the
provisions of this article other than Class E, Class F and Class G
licenses, the license shall expire, except as herein otherwise provided,
provided, however, that upon application to the Comptroller, or the
clerk of the court issuing such license, as the case may be, and upon
the payment of a fee of one dollar ($1.00), made by the executors or
administrators of the deceased licensee, a certificate of permission
may be granted for the continuation of the business in the name of
such executors or administrators for the benefit of the estate of the
deceased for a period not exceeding eight months from the date of
any such permission, unless the license shall sooner expire, in which
case upon application by the executor or administrator as above
provided a renewal license for a period not exceeding eight months
after the death of the license holder may be issued subject to the
right of protest, revocation, suspension and restriction as in other
