for the maintenance, discipline and conduct of the county jail,
prisoners, and employees placed under his supervision or control,
as may be necessary and convenient for the proper administration of
the power, authority and discretion conferred upon him. Each
prisoner sentenced to serve a term in the county jail shall be entitled
to a diminution of the period of his confinement as follows. For
each calendar month commencing on the first day of the month
next after his arrival at the county jail, or on June 1, 1967, for each
prisoner confined therein at that time, during which he shall not be
guilty of a violation of the discipline or any of the rules thereof
and shall labor with diligence and fidelity, he shall be allowed a
deduction of five days each month of the period of the committment
or sentence. For each and every violation of the rules and discipline
of the county jail, or want of fidelity or care in the performance
of work or lack of industry, the person therein confined shall not
only forfeit all gained time in the month in which such delinquency
occurs, but, according to the aggravated nature or frequency of his
offense, the Sheriff may deduct a portion or all of his gained time
for good conduct earned prior thereto.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

(House Bill 452)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 108(16)
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition)
(1966 Supplement), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial
Magistrates System," to assign certain duties heretofore performed
by the Treasurer for Prince George's County to the Internal
Auditor of Prince George's County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 108(16) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition) (1966 Supplement), title "Justices of the
Peace," subtitle "Trial Magistrates System," be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:
108. Number and salaries.
(16) Prince George's County.—(a) There shall be two full-time
judges of the People's Court of Prince George's County, each of whom
shall receive a salary of $18,000 per year.
(b) The judges of the People's Court of Prince George's County
shall make a circuit, sitting in Marlboro, Hyattsville, Laurel and such
other places as the judges of the People's Court shall deem necessary
and at which adequate facilities are provided by the County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County, as often and for such periods
of time as may be required by the work of the court.
