CHAPTER 596
(House Bill 573)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 76(a) of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County (1963 Edition,
being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Allegany County," subtitle "County Treasurer," subheading
"County Tax Collectors," authorizing the county commissioners
of Allegany County to grant salary increases to the Tax Collector
when deemed advisable.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 76(a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany
County (1963 Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Allegany County," subtitle "County
Treasurer," subheading "County Tax Collectors," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

76.

(a) The said Tax Collector so appointed shall have been a bona
fide resident of Allegany County for at least five years prior to his
appointment, shall be at least 25 years of age, and shall not be
related directly or collaterally within the third degree, nor married
to any one so related to any member of the Board of County
Commissioners making such appointment; and such Tax Collector
shall receive as compensation for his services such compensation as
is now or may hereafter be prescribed by the County Commissioners
of Allegany County, [not to exceed the sum of $625.00 per month]
Not less than the sum of seven thousand five hundred dollars
($7,500.00) per year,
payable semi-monthly, provided, however, that
no such collector shall receive any separate compensation from the
State for collecting State taxes.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 597
(House Bill 574)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 584
and 585 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County
(1963 Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Allegany County," subtitle "Roads," to in-
crease the width of roads dedicated to or accepted into the Al-
legany County roads system by the County Commissioners.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 584 and 585 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Allegany County (1963 Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Allegany County," subtitle
