Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Chapter 535 of the Laws of Maryland of 1959 be and the same
is hereby repealed.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

AN ACT to repeal Section 205 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Howard County (1965 Edition, being Article 14 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Howard County", subtitle
"Parks", as added by Chapter 548 of the Acts of 1966, and to
enact new Section 205 in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the
section so repealed, to change the membership of the Board of
Parks, terms of office, powers, duties and related purposes.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 205 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Howard
County (1965 Edition, being Article 14 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Howard County", subtitle "Parks", as
added by Chapter 548 of the Acts of 1966, and to enact new Section
205 in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the section so repealed,
and to read as follows:
205.
(a) There is hereby created a Board of Parks for Howard County
which shall consist of three ex officio members and four appointive
members with powers and duties hereinafter specified.
(b) The ex officio members of the Board shall be the president of
the Board of County Commissioners of Howard County, the chair-
man of the Board of Education of Howard County and the chairman
of the Planning Commission of Howard County. The county com-
missioner member shall serve for his elected term of office and the
Board of Education and Planning Commission members shall serve
for their appointed terms of office. The Governor of Maryland shall
appoint, with the advice and consent of the Senate, the appointive
members, who shall serve for four years from the first day of May
of the year of their appointments, or until their successors are
appointed, except that the respective terms of the four members first
appointed shall be one, two, three and four years respectively. Vacan-
cies, except those at the expiration of a term, shall be filled in the
same manner as the original appointments and for the unexpired
term. All members of the Board shall serve without compensation
but shall be entitled to reimbursement for their expenses in the per-
formance of their duties.
(c) The Board shall annually select a chairman and a vice-chair-
man from its membership; and it shall also select a secretary and
a treasurer, who may or may not be members thereof. The Board
may require the treasurer to give bond in such amount as it may
