Montgomery County. The Majority Clerk as defined in this subsec-
tion shall be deemed an appointed official within the meaning of
Section 11 of Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Maryland, and
any amendments thereto, and shall be treated as such for all pur-
poses of said Article 73B.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

(Senate Bill 496)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 10 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico County (1965 Edi-
tion, being Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Wicomico County," subtitle "Circuit Court," sub-
heading "Court Stenographers;" this section being also Section
145 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Dorchester County (1961
Edition, being Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Dorchester County," subtitle "Circuit Court,"
subheading "Court Stenographer;" this section being also Section
123 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Worcester County (1961
Edition, being Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Worcester County," subtitle "Circuit Court,"
subheading "Court Stenographer;" Section 10 being also Section
6 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Somerset County (1963
Edition, being Article 20 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Somerset County," subtitle "Circuit Court," subheading
"Court Stenographer," each as last amended by Chapter 442 of
the Acts of 1966; to provide that the salary of court stenographers
in the First Judicial Circuit be determined and set by the Judges
of that Circuit and to correct errors in the local laws.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico
County (1965 Edition, being Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Wicomico County," subtitle "Circuit
Court," subheading "Court Stenographers," as last amended by
Chapter 442 of the Acts of 1966, be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

10.

(a) The salary of said stenographers shall be [eight thousand
five hundred dollars ($8,500) per year] determined and set by the
Judges of the First Judicial Circuit,
said salary to be paid as fol-
lows: The County Commissioners of Dorchester County, [Wicomico
County,] Somerset County and Worcester County and the County
Council of Wicomico County
shall each pay an amount of the
salary specified as directed and certified by the judges of the cir-
cuit, said payments to be made on monthly installments during the
service, on the presentation of the certificate of the judges of said
