nature of such expenses, and shall furnish, upon request, to any
resident of the county a complete, full and itemized statement of
such receipts and expenses without charge. Such published financial
statements in Harford County shall include a public notice that
a detailed financial statement may be obtained by interested persons
from the office of the County Commissioners.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 523
(Senate Bill 495)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 8 (a) of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and
1966 Supplement), title "Elections", subtitle "Supervisors of Elec-
tions and Employees", to provide that the majority clerk of the
Board of Supervisors of Elections of Montgomery County shall
be deemed an appointed official for the purposes of Section 11 of
Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Maryland and any amend-
ments thereto.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 8(a) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition and 1966 Supplement), title "Elections", subtitle
"Supervisors of Elections and Employees", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
8(a).
The Supervisors of Elections of Montgomery County may employ
any member of the Bar of Maryland, resident in Montgomery County,
who shall be paid for his services the sum of $1,200 per annum, and
shall also employ and appoint a majority clerk, who shall be paid
for his services as such $2,400 per annum, a minority clerk at a
salary of $2,400 per annum, two registrars who shall constitute the
permanent board of registry at a salary of $5,000 each per annum,
and each member of the permanent board of registry shall be paid
the further sum of $1,200 per annum for the expenses incident to
the operation of their automobiles. The Supervisors shall also
employ and appoint a stenographer and a clerk at a salary of $3,600
each per annum and twelve clerks at a salary of $3,000 each per
annum. Six of the clerks shall be appointed by the member of the
Board who shall have been selected from the political party opposite
to that of the Governor, and shall be removable by such member of the
Board in his discretion. The majority clerk of the Board of Super-
visors of Elections in Montgomery County and one person who shall
be appointed by the Governor in the same manner and on the same
terms and conditions as the Supervisors of Elections are appointed
and who shall belong to the other leading political party from that to
which the majority clerk shall belong, and who will be the minority
clerk, shall constitute the permanent board of registry for said
