rect an error in the law.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 23 (a) of Article 88B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume), title "State Police", subtitle "In
General", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
23.
(a) The police employees of the Department shall not act within
the limits of any incorporated municipality which maintains a police
force except (1) when in pursuit of an offender or suspected offender;
or (2) when in search of an offender or suspected offender wanted
for a crime committed outside of the limits of the municipality, or
when interviewing or seeking to interview a witness or supposed
witness to such a crime; or (3) when requested to act by the chief
executive officer of the municipality in question or its chief police
officer, as provided under Section [21] 22; or (4) when ordered by
the Governor, to act within the municipality in question; or (5)
when enforcing the motor vehicle laws of this State.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

(Senate Bill 473)
AN ACT to add new Section 12 (c) to Article 14B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1966 Supplement), title "State Boat Act", to
follow immediately after Section 12 (b) thereof, to make it unlaw-
ful for any person, firm or corporation to throw, dump, deposit
or cause to be thrown, dumped or deposited, any trash, junk or
other refuse upon any of the waters of this State, and providing
that the Department of Chesapeake Bay Affairs shall enforce the
provisions of this Act, and further providing for penalties for
violation of provisions of this Act.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 12 (c) be and it is hereby added to Article 14B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Supplement), title "State
Boat Act", to follow immediately after Section 12 (b) thereof, and
to read as follows:

(c) The Department shall also have the duty of enforcing the pro-
visions of this section as set forth below relating to the throwing,
dumping or depositing of trash, junk, or other refuse upon any of
the waters of this State.
