(Senate Bill 411)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 37 through 51, inclusive, of Article 97
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Weights
and Measures", subtitle "Apples", and to enact new Sections 37
through 45, inclusive, in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the
sections so repealed, relating to the sale of apples in closed pack-
ages, establishing grade standards thereof, prohibiting the sale
of apples failing to meet such standards, imposing marketing and
labeling requirements with respect to such sales, providing for
enforcement of the subtitle, imposing penalties for violations of
the provisions thereof, and relating generally to apples in closed
packages.
