CHAPTER 484
(Senate Bill 368)

AN ACT to add new Section 712 (f-1) to Article 66C of the An-
notated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1966 Supplement),
title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," to follow
immediately after Section 712 (f) thereof, making it unlawful to
possess hard-shell clams of less than a specified size.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 712 (f-1) be and it is hereby added to Article 66C
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1966 Supple-
ment), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," to
follow immediately after Section 712 (f) thereof, and to read as
follows:

712.

(f-1) It shall be unlawful for any person to have in his possession
hard-shell clams (Mercenaria mercenaria) having a transverse di-
mension of less than one inch.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 485
(Senate Bill 371)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 716 of
Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," to provide
that all monies received by the Comptroller's office under the
provisions of the oyster and clam laws, and all royalties paid the
State for removal of oyster and clam shells from bottoms shall be
credited to a Fisheries Research and Development Fund to be
administered by the Department of Chesapeake Bay Affairs and
specifying how these funds are to be used.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 716 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters and
Clams," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

716.

All moneys received by the Comptroller of the treasury, under the
provisions of this subtitle, from license fees, taxes, fines, penalties,
forfeitures, and all royalties paid to the State for oyster shells and
clam shells removed from bottoms beneath the tidal waters of Mary-
land
or any other source, shall be credited by said Comptroller to
the [Oyster] Fisheries Research and Development Fund. The Fish-
eries Research and Development Fund shall be administered by the
