CHAPTER 470
(Senate Bill 322)

AN ACT to add new Section 273 to Article 77 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Public Education,"
subtitle "Chapter 27. Free Scholarships," to follow immediately
after Section 272 thereof, to authorize the annual payment by the
State of certain sums of money to Charlotte Hall School from the
State budget, these sums to be not less than certain sums pre-
viously paid in consideration of the granting of scholarships by
the school, AND PROVIDING THAT PART OF THIS SUM BE
USED FOR THE TUITION OF STUDENTS ATTENDING OR
ENTERING THE SCHOOL.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 273 be and it is hereby added to Article 77 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title
"Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 27. Free Scholarships," to
follow immediately after Section 272 thereof, and to read as follows:

273.

For the fiscal year 1968 and for every fiscal year thereafter, funds
shall be included in the annual State budget for Charlotte Hall School.
Such funds shall be paid to Charlotte Hall School and shall be never
less than that amount which was paid to the school in the State budget
for the fiscal year 1967.
PROVIDED THAT ALL STUDENTS
ATTENDING THE SCHOOL ON THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF
THIS ACT, AND ALL STUDENTS WHO HAVE RECEIVED
SCHOLARSHIP APPOINTMENTS FOR THE YEAR BEGIN-
NING 1967-68 SHALL BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE THEIR
STUDY UNDER THE TERMS OF APPOINTMENTS, AND THAT
EXPENSES FOR THESE STUDENTS SHALL BE CHARGED
AGAINST THE FUNDS PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION. ANY
FUNDS UNUSED AND RETAINED AS A RESULT OF VACAN-
CIES IN SCHOLARSHIPS HEREUNDER SHALL BE UTILIZED
BY THE STATE SCHOLARSHIP BOARD AS UNITS IN FUR-
NISHING SCHOLARSHIPS UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTION 284G OF THIS ARTICLE.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 471

(Senate Bill 330)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 295 of
Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Motor Vehicles", subtitle "Operation of Vehicles Upon High-
ways", to provide that as of December 31, 1967, every motor
vehicle registered in this State shall be equipped with an outside
mirror on the driver's side.
