physician licensed to practice medicine, as the case may he. IN THE
EVENT THAT THE SAID MINOR IS FOUND NOT TO BE
PREGNANT OR NOT AFFLICTED WITH A VENEREAL DIS-
EASE THEN NO INFORMATION WITH RESPECT TO ANY AP-
POINTMENT, EXAMINATION, TEST OR OTHER MEDICAL
PROCEDURE SHALL BE GIVEN TO THE SPOUSE, PARENT,
CUSTODIAN OR GUARDIAN OF SAID MINOR.

(c) The provisions of this Section shall apply also to minors who
profess to he in need of hospital or clinical care or services or medical
or surgical care or services to he provided by a physician licensed to
practice medicine, whether because of suspected pregnancy or vene-
real disease, regardless of whether such professed suspicions of preg-
nancy or venereal disease are, or are not subsequently substanti-
ated on a medical basis.

(D) ANY CONSENT GIVEN PURSUANT TO THE PROVI-
SIONS OF THIS SECTION BY A MINOR SHALL NOT BE
DEEMED TO BE VALID IF, FOLLOWING A DELIVERY OR
OTHER TERMINATION OF A PREGNANCY, IT IS DETER-
MINED THAT SURGERY NOT DIRECTLY CONNECTED WITH
THE PREGNANCY IS REQUIRED OR SHALL BE REQUESTED.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 469

(Senate Bill 320)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 260, 261, 263, 264, 265, 265A, 265B,
265C, 265D, 265E, 267, 268, 268A, 268B, 272, 280, 281 and 282
, 282 AND 282A (B) of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1965 Replacement Volume and 1966 Supplement), title
"Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 27. Free Scholarships"; and
to enact new Sections 260 through 268A, 268, inclusive, in lieu
thereof, to stand in the place of the sections so repealed, and to be
under the new subtitle "Chapter 27. General Assembly Scholarship
Awards", to completely revise the system for awarding scholar-
ships by members of the Senate of Maryland to various institu-
tions of higher education in the State, to fix the value, manner of
award and qualifications of recipients of such scholarships and to
provide for the award of certain scholarships by members of the
House of Delegates for use at the University of Maryland.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 260, 261, 263, 264, 265, 265A, 265B, 265C, 265D, 265E,
267, 268, 268A, 268B, 272, 280, 281 and 282 , 282 , 282 AND 282A (B) of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement
Volume and 1966 Supplement), title "Public Education," subtitle
"Chapter 27. Free Scholarships," be and they are hereby repealed, and
that new Sections 260 through 268A, 268, inclusive, be and they are
hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the sections
