respective limits. Hereafter in this subtitle such counties and munici-
pal corporations are referred to as "county" or "counties" or "munici-
pal corporation" as the case may be. This subtitle is effective only
in the counties of Anne Arundel, Carroll, Cecil, Charles, Frederick,
Harford, Howard, Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's, Queen Anne's
and St. Mary's.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

(Senate Bill 608)

AN ACT to add new Section 566 (d) to Article 43 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Health",
subtitle "Hospitals", to follow immediately after Section 566 (c)
thereof, authorizing the Board of County Commissioners of Kent
County to cooperate in the construction of a nursing home in
Chestertown within the terms of this subtitle by contributing a
certain portion of the cost thereof, authorizing this portion of the
cost to be paid from general funds or borrowed funds and providing
for the duty of the State Board of Health on this project.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 566 (d) be and it is hereby added to Article 43 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title
"Health", subtitle "Hospitals", to follow immediately after Section
566 (c) thereof, and to read as follows:

566.

(d) The Board of County Commissioners of Kent County may co-
operate within the terms of this section and subtitle for the construc-
tion of a nursing home and related facilities by contributions up to
one-third of the cost of this nursing home and facilities. The nursing
home so constructed shall be provided in Chestertown as AT LEAST
a 25-bed nursing home. For this purpose the County Commissioners of
Kent County may levy or appropriate from the general funds of the
County; or they may (within the limits of any restriction upon their
borrowing power) secure the necessary monies or any portion thereof
by the issue of bonds or other certificates of indebtedness, pledging
the full faith and credit of the County to the payment of interest
and principal thereon. For the purposes of this subsection, the State
Board of Health, as the sole agency to represent the State, shall rep-
resent and cooperate with the Board of County Commissioners of
Kent County.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.
