SEC. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASURE
AND NECESSARY FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION
OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY AND HAVING BEEN
PASSED BY A YEA AND NAY VOTE SUPPORTED BY THREE-
FIFTHS OF ALL THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH OF THE
TWO HOUSES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THE SAME
SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF ITS PASSAGE.

CHAPTER 532
(Senate Bill 365)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3 (t)
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Elections", subtitle "Supervisors of Elections and Em-
ployees", increasing the compensation of members of the board
of election supervisors in St. Mary's County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 3 (t) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Elections", subtitle "Supervisors of Elections
and Employees", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, and to read as follows:

(t) St. Mary's County: [$250.] $500.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 533
(Senate Bill 523)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 108 (21)
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Supple-
ment), title "Justices of the Peace", subtitle "Trial Magistrates
System", to increase the salaries of the trial magistrates of Wash-
ington County who sit at Hancock, Boonsboro, Williamsport and
Smithsburg.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.
