Counties—Court Stenographers," and Section 10(d) of Article 24
of said Code (1957 Edition) title "Costs," to amend the laws as to
costs for docketing cases at law and equity in Anne Arundel
County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 10 (d) of Article 24 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Costs," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(d) This section shall be applicable only in Baltimore City,
[Anne Arundel] Dorchester, Harford, Somerset, Wicomico and
Worcester counties.
Sec. 2. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Section 31 of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition and 1965 Supplement), title "Courts," subtitle "Circuit
Courts for the Counties—Court Stenographers," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
31.
(A) No case at law or in equity shall be docketed in the circuit courts
for Anne Arundel, Howard, Calvert, Carroll, Caroline, Cecil, Kent,
Queen Anne's and Washington counties until the clerk of the circuit
court for the applicable county shall have been paid the initial costs
therefor. The initial costs for docketing an equity case shall be
fifteen dollars ($15.00) and for docketing a law case, ten dollars
($10.00). However, in any such case where the party is indigent and
files an oath "in forma pauperis," this section shall not apply.
(B) THE PROVISIONS OF SUBSECTION (A) ARE APPLI-
CABLE WITHIN ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, EXCEPT THAT
THE COSTS FOR DOCKETING CASES IN EQUITY ARE TEN
DOLLARS ($10.00).
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

(House Bill 950)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 12 of
Article 14B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Supplement),
title "State Boat Act," to authorize the Department of Chesapeake
Bay Affairs to tow disabled vessels upon tidal waters to a safe
location and to provide in this power that the Department is not
to compete in providing towing services with commercial towers,
and to correct an error therein.
