day each week, and as much oftener as the proper discharge of
their official duties may require. Said County Commissioners shall
not receive any additional compensation for any services required
to be performed pursuant to their duties as County Commissioners,
including their duty to review assessments; provided further that
each of the said County Commissioners shall be paid by the Treasurer
of the County actual traveling and other expenses incurred in the
conduct of his duties not to exceed seven hundred fifty dollars
($750.00) per year for each commissioner.

(d) From time to time the Board of County Commissioners shall
elect a member of the Board to serve as its President, who shall
have and exercise the usual functions of a presiding officer during
the time he holds the position.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this Act affects
the election, tenure, powers, duties, or compensation of any member
of the Board of County Commissioners of Harford County who is in
office on the effective date of this Act, for the remainder of his then
term of office. The provisions of this Act concerning the several
Commissioner districts of Harford County shall be effective for the
primary and general elections in the year 1966, for the election of
persons to the offices of County Commissioners of Harford County;
and the provisions of this Act concerning the compensation of
members of the Board of County Commissioners of Harford County
shall take effect as of the beginning of the term of office of the
several County Commissioners who are elected thereto at the regu-
lar election in November 1966.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 462
(House Bill 894)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact Section 243 (n) of Article 48A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and
1965 Supplement), title "Insurance Code," subtitle "16. Casualty
and Surety Rating," to provide that the assigned risk plan be
known as Maryland Automobile Insurance Plan and to provide
insurance for every applicant who is otherwise unable to obtain
insurance AND CHANGING THE EFFECTIVE HOUR OF
SUCH INSURANCE.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 243 (n) of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume and 1965 Supplement), title "Insur-
ance Code," subtitle "16. Rates and Rating Organizations," be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
