(1) That the Commission shall exercise no authority over the
operation or construction of the sewerage, water and drainage facil-
ities of any incorporated municipality, including the extension of
such facilities beyond the corporate limits of any municipality, as
such extension may exist on June 1, 1963; except that the Com-
mission may, upon petition by the governing body of a municipality,
enter the incorporated municipality in cooperation with said mu-
nicipality for the operation, construction and maintenance of water
or sewer facilities; and except that the Commission may, either
jointly with an incorporated municipality, or independently, acquire
by purchase or condemnation any land, structure, building or fran-
chise of a privately owned water or sewerage system;
and

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 460
(House Bill 793)

AN ACT to repeal Section 99C of Article 89B of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1965 Supplement), title "State Roads," subtitle
"Sinepuxent Bay Bridge," repealing the statute which provides that
such bridge shall be a toll bridge.

Whereas, an agreement was reached between the Board of Public
Works of Maryland and the Department of the Interior which pro-
vided that if Assateague Island became a National Seashore Park
under the control of an Agency of the Federal Government, that the
bridge connecting Assateague Island with the mainland would be
operated as a toll free bridge, and

Whereas, the Congress has passed and the President signed legis-
lation authorizing Assateague Island to be developed as a National
Seashore Park; now, therefore,

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland.
That Section 99C of Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Supplement), title "State Roads," subtitle "Sinepuxent Bay
Bridge," be and is hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.
