Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1965 Supplement), title "Motor
Vehicles," subtitle "Offenses and Prosecutions," be and it is hereby-
repealed and that a new subsection (d-2) of Section 341 be and it
is hereby enacted to stand in the place of the subsection so repealed,
such new subsection to read as follows:
341.
(d-2) Eighty-five per cent (85%) of the salaries and expenses of
the Department of Maryland State Police and of the State Police
Retirement System of the State of Maryland referred to in sub-
section (d) hereof shall be paid from the funds received by the
Department of Motor Vehicles pursuant to this section. The remain-
ing fifteen per cent (15%) of the salaries and expenses of the Depart-
ment of Maryland State Police and of the State Police Retirement
System shall be paid from the general funds of the State.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966 JULY 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 393
(House Bill 705)
AN ACT to add new Section 42A to Article 52 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Justices
of the Peace," subtitle "Process and Service," to follow imme-
diately after Section 42 thereof to provide that in actions before
a justice of the peace service shall be made pursuant to Rule 306
of the Maryland Rules of Procedure of any pleading or amend-
ment filed.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 42A be and it is hereby added to Article 52 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title
"Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Process and Service," to follow im-
mediately after Section 42 thereof, and to read as follows:
42A.
If a pleading or amendment is filed in any action before a justice
of the peace, service shall be made pursuant to Rule 306 of the
Maryland Rules of Procedure.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.
