"Courts, Fines, Forfeitures and Imprisonment," as added, last
amended by Chapter 682, Section 1 of the Acts of 1957; to
provide for an increase in the compensation of the bailiff of the
orphans' court.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 7-65 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore
County (1958 Edition, being Article 3 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore County," subtitle "Part II.
Laws," subheading "Courts, Fines, Forfeitures and Imprisonment,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
7-65.
The judges of orphans' court may appoint a bailiff, who shall
attend each sitting of the court and perform such duties as the court
and register of wills may direct, and shall be paid an annual salary
of [two] three thousand [four] six hundred dollars.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1,1966.

(House Bill 1143)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40(d) of
Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Supplement),
title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact," subtitle "State's
Attorney," to increase the annual salaries of the State's Attorney,
Deputy State's Attorney and Assistant State's Attorneys in Balti-
more County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40(d) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact,"
subtitle "State's Attorney," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
40.
(d) In Baltimore County, (1) the State's Attorney's salary is
[thirteen thousand five hundred dollars ($13,500)] not less than
eighteen thousand dollars ($18,000) annually, to be paid in equal
biweekly installments.
(2) The State's Attorney shall appoint a deputy State's attorney
with a salary of not less than [nine thousand ($9,000) dollars]
thirteen thousand dollars ($13,000) annually to be paid in equal bi-
weekly installments; the deputy State's attorney is to perform such
work as directed by the State's Attorney or as authorized by law.
