Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall not apply
to convictions for murders committed before June 1, 1966.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 238A, of
Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Cumulative
Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "State Depart-
ment of Assessments and Taxation," relating to the salaries of
field supervisors of assessments, in Baltimore County, Maryland.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 238A, of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Cumulative Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle
"State Department of Assessments and Taxation," be and it hereby
is repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
238A. Salaries in Baltimore County—Field Supervisor of Assess-
ments.
The supervisor of assessments of Baltimore County is hereby au-
thorized to designate one member of his staff as a field supervisor.
Baltimore County, Maryland, shall be authorized and directed to
levy and pay such field supervisor of assessments of Baltimore County
a salary as specified in standard salary grade [XXIX] XXXI as
establish by the Personnel and Salary Advisory Board of Baltimore
County, Maryland, from time to time, including increments for time
served and longevity specified for such grade, provided, however, that
service of such field supervisor of assessments prior to June 30,
[1963] 1966, as field supervisor of assessments, shall be taken into
consideration in determining the salary payable to him, and provided
further that the portion of said salary to be paid by the State shall
be limited to the amount provided in Section 237 of this Article.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That it is not intended that
reference to Standard Salary Grades established by the Personnel
and Salary Advisory Board of Baltimore County, Maryland, should
subject field supervisors of assessments to the jurisdiction of the
Personnel and Salary Advisory Board of Baltimore County, Mary-
land, but is merely for the purpose of establishing the compensation
payable to such employees.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1966.
