to carry out the provisions of this subtitle, to make contracts, to
deal with employees, to purchase, lease and rent and use all neces-
sary buildings, land and equipment.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 278
(Senate Bill 549)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 278 (i)
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Charles County (1965
Edition, being Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Charles County", subtitle "Parks and Recrea-
tion", to require the Charles County Board of Parks and Recrea-
tion to cooperate with the Charles County Board of Education in
the acquisition and use of properties in the county for educational,
park and recreation uses.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 278 (i) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Charles
County (1965 Edition, being Article 9 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County", subtitle "Parks and
Recreation", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

(i) The County Commissioners, by and through the Board of
Parks and Recreation, may join or cooperate with the Federal Gov-
ernment, the State of Maryland, any municipality, any other gov-
ernmental agency or citizen group in providing, establishing, con-
ducting, and maintaining recreation centers, playgrounds, parks, and
other recreation facilities and activities. The Board shall cooperate
with the Charles County Board of Education for the purpose of
acquiring and using properties by either Board for the joint use of
both Boards.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

Charles County to borrow in their discretion upon the faith and
credit of said County an amount or amounts not exceeding five
