CHAPTER 274
(Senate Bill 227)

AN ACT to add new Sections 68 (h) and 74 (h) to Article 2B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1965 Supplement),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", subtitles, respectively, "Renewal of
Licenses" and "Rights and Duties of Licensees", to follow im-
mediately after Sections 68 (g) and 74 (g) thereof, respectively,
to require the presentation of information from the Supervisor of
Assessments of Charles County evidencing payments of personal
property taxes before an alcoholic beverage license may be either
renewed or transferred in the County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 68 (h) and 74 (h) be and they are hereby added
to Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and
1965 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages", subtitles, respectively,
"Renewal of Licenses" and "Rights and Duties of Licensees", to fol-
low immediately after Sections 68 (g) and 74 (g) thereof, respec-
tively, and to read as follows:

68.

(h) In Charles County, no renewal of any license may be made as
authorized in subsection (a) of this section unless there is presented
to the Board, a receipt or certificate from the Supervisor of Assess-
ments of the County showing there are no unpaid taxes on the
merchandise, fixtures and stock of the licensee due to the County or
any municipal corporation in the county in which the licensed prem-
ises are located.

(h) In Charles County, no transfer of any license may be made as
authorized in subsection (a) of this section unless there is presented
to the Board, a receipt or certificate from the Supervisor of Assess-
ments of the County showing there are no unpaid taxes on the mer-
chandise, fixtures and stock of the transferor due to the County or
any municipal corporation in the county in which the licensed prem-
ises are located.
                                                                        

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
