(House Bill 74)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 8 of
Article 66 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement
Volume), title "Mortgages, subtitle "In General," to include Calvert
County among those counties in which interest under a mortgage
of realty which is foreclosed is payable for a period of time after
the sale of the realty subject to the mortgage.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 8 of Article 66 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume), title "Mortgages," subtitle "In Gen-
eral," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

In all cases of sales of real estate under the authority or jurisdic-
tion of the circuit courts in Calvert, Cecil, Frederick, Kent, Queen
Anne's, Talbot, Caroline, Worcester and Charles Counties where the
sale proceeds are subject to the payment of a mortgage on such real
estate, the interest provided in such mortgage shall be payable for
a period of sixty days following the date of sale or until the audit
of such sale be ratified, whichever shall first occur. (1955, ch. 458;
1959, chs. 568, 647; 1961, ch. 388.)

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
shall be applicable only to mortgages foreclosed on and after the
effective date of this Act.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

(House Bill 108)

AN ACT to add new Section 280(c) to Article 66½ of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle
"Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways," to follow immediately
after Section 280(b) thereof, making it unlawful to operate on any
public highway or street of this State any motor vehicle registered
in this State and sold as a new vehicle after June 1, 1967, unless
it is equipped with automatic brake lights and relating generally
to this requirement.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 280(c) be and it is hereby added to Article 66½
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Motor
Vehicles," subtitle "Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways," to fol-
low immediately after Section 280(b) thereof and to read as follows:
