CHAPTER 170
(Senate Bill 507)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 106 of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", subtitle "Hours and Days for Sale",
amending the laws concerning the hours during which certain
alcoholic beverages may be consumed on licensed premises in
Worcester County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 106 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", subtitle "Hours and
Days for Sale", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

106.

In Worcester County, notwithstanding any other provisions of this
subtitle, no holder of any retail alcoholic beverage license shall be
permitted to sell, barter, deliver or give away, or otherwise dispose
of, any alcoholic beverages or permit any alcoholic beverages to be
consumed on the licensed premises between the hours of 1.00 o'clock
A.M. and 8.00 o'clock A.M. Eastern Standard Time and no holder of
any retail alcoholic beverage license of any class whatsoever shall be
permitted to sell, deliver, give away or otherwise dispose of any
alcoholic beverages or permit any alcoholic beverage to be consumed
on the licensed premises between the hours of [12.00 o'clock mid-
night on Saturday] 1.00 o'clock A.M. Eastern Standard Time on
Sunday
and 8.00 o'clock A.M. Eastern Standard Time the following
Monday. No holder of any retail alcoholic beverage license under
the provisions of this article shall allow to be consumed on his
licensed premises any alcoholic beverage whatsoever at any time
following the closing hours prescribed in this section. Any licensee
convicted of violation of the provisions of this section shall, upon
conviction, be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished
by a fine of not more than $500.00 or by imprisonment for not more
than one year, or by both fine and imprisonment at the discretion of
the court.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1, 1966.

(Senate Bill 518)

AN ACT to add new Sections 34A through 34LL inclusive, to the
Code of Public Local Laws of Carroll County (1965 Edition, being
Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Carroll County", subtitle "County Commissioners", to follow im-
mediately after Section 34 thereof, and to be under a new sub-
heading "Open Space Maintenance", providing certain powers and
