105.

(a) In those precincts in which paper ballots are used for voting,
the Supervisors of Elections shall provide in each room designated
by them as polling places, a sufficient number of voting booths or
compartments, in which voters may conveniently mark their ballots.
The booths or compartments shall be constructed of plank not less
than one inch in thickness or of substantial metallic or other mate-
rial. They shall be of such width, depth and height that the voter in
marking his ballot therein shall be screened from the observations
of others, and for this purpose a short curtain shall be hung across
the front of each compartment at a convenient height. In the event
the Board of Supervisors no longer have voting booths which meet
these specifications, they may procure temporary substitutes with
comparable security features.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of laws,
public general or public local, inconsistent with the provisions of this
Act are hereby repealed to the extent of any such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

June 1, 1966.

SEC. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASURE
AND NECESSARY FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION
OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, AND HAVING BEEN
PASSED BY A YEA AND NAY VOTE SUPPORTED BY THREE-
FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH OF THE
TWO HOUSES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THE SAME
SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF ITS PASSAGE.

CHAPTER 143
(Senate Bill 329)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 19 (m)
(2) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition and 1965 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-
title "Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses", deleting the specified re-
striction against the obtaining of a Class B (on sale) beer, wine
and liquor license in Worcester County outside Ocean City and
reducing the annual fee for said license.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 19 (m) (2) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition and 1965 Supplement), title "Alcoholic
Beverages", subtitle "Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
