ANY FUNCTION OF AN OFFICE OR DEPARTMENT ESTAB-
LISHED BY THE CONSTITUTION, PUBLIC GENERAL LAW OR
PUBLIC LOCAL LAW OF THE COUNTY. THE PROVISIONS OF
THIS SUBSECTION ARE NOT APPLICABLE IN KENT
COUNTY.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, the following
sections of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964
Replacement Volume and 1965 Supplement), title "Justices of the
Peace," Section 6(k), subtitle "Civil Jurisdiction"; Sections 16
and 25A, subtitle "Criminal Jurisdiction"; Section 32A (c), sub-
title "Docket"; and Sections 97(c), 99, 100A, 114, 119(a), sub-
title "Trial Magistrates System"; and to repeal Section 108(12)
of said Article and title, subtitle "Trial Magistrates System";
and to enact new Section 108(12) in lieu thereof, to stand in the
place of the section repealed, and to add new Sections 98B,
119(o) and 125C to said Article and title, subtitle "Trial Magis-
trates System," to follow immediately after Sections 98A, 119
(n), and 125B respectively; generally revising the laws relating
to the People's Court of Harford County, providing for judges
thereof, their appointment, qualifications, tenure, removal, sal-
aries, powers, functions, and duties, jurisdiction of said Courts
practice and procedure therein, substitutes, committing magis-
trates, duties of the County Commissioners and functions of the
Circuit Court with respect to said People's Court, and correcting
references, all to be effective May 1, 1967.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the following sections of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and 1965 Supplement), title
"Justices of the Peace," Section 6(k), subtitle "Civil Jurisdiction";
Sections 16 and 25A, subtitle "Criminal Jurisdiction"; Section 32A
(c), subtitle "Docket"; and Sections 97(c), 99, 100A, 114, 119(a),
subtitle "Trial Magistrates System"; be and they are hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and that Section 108(12)
of said Article and title, subtitle "Trial Magistrates System," be
and it is hereby repealed; and that new Section 108(12) be and it
is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the Section
repealed; and that new Sections 98B, 119(o) and 125C be and they
are hereby added to said Article and title, subtitle "Trial Magis-
trates System," to follow immediately after Sections 98A, 119 (n)
and 125B respectively, and all to read as follows:
