Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That Section 255 (a) of Article
93 of the said Code (1965 Supplement), title "Testamentary Law,"
subtitle "Orphans' Court," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
255.
(a) The judges of the orphans' courts of Baltimore City and the
several counties (other than Montgomery County) [and Baltimore
City] shall receive compensation as herein prescribed, said com-
pensation to be paid monthly, except as provided.
Sec. 5. And be it further enacted, That Sections 2-14 and 7-35 of
the Montgomery County Code (1960 Edition), being Article 16 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County,"
subtitles, respectively, "Administration" and "Courts," be and they
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

The judges of the circuit court of the county [and the judges
of the orphans' court for the county] in banc are hereby authorized
and empowered by appropriate orders to provide and establish a five-
day week for the employees of (a) the circuit court, [of] (b) the
orphans' court, (c) the clerk of the circuit court and [of] (d) the
register of wills for the county, respectively. The council, the county
board of education, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commis-
sion, department of liquor control, the board of supervisors of elec-
tions, the supervisor of assessments and the Maryland-National
Capital Park and Planning Commission are hereby authorized and
empowered by appropriate order or resolution to provide and estab-
lish a five-day week for the employees of their respective agencies
and offices. Any other department, board or commission of the gov-
ernment of the county not included in the above-enumerated groups
shall also have the power by appropriate order or resolution to pro-
vide and establish a five-day week for their employees. All of the
above-mentioned officials and boards shall have the authority and
power to provide and determine, in their discretion, the working
hours for their respective employees.

Any [one of the judges of the court shall have power to hold the
court, at a stated time or adjournment, only for the purpose of ad-
journing; any two of them] Judge of the Circuit Court at the time
sitting as the Orphans' Court shall have full power to do any act
which the court is or shall be authorized by law to perform, and
[any two of them] may hold a court on any day not named in an
adjournment, on the application of any person haying pressing busi-
ness in such court; provided notice thereof be given to all, and in
such case the register shall record that such notice has been given.
