Court for Montgomery County, unless such Section shall other-
wise specifically provide.
Whereas, there are references throughout Article 93 of the An-
notated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Testa-
mentary Law" to the chief justice or chief judge of the Orphans'
Court of a county or Baltimore City, including but not restricted to,
Sections 58, 68 and 230; and
Whereas, there are references throughout said Article 93 of said
Code to the judges of the Orphans' Courts of the counties, or of Balti-
more City, as being plural in number, including but not restricted
to, Sections, 43, 49, 50, 68, 188, 258, 268, 269, 271, 273, 278, 280, 281,
290, 311, 321, 378 and 383; and
Whereas, by Constitutional Amendment the several judges of the
Circuit Court for Montgomery County each, alternately and in rota-
tion on schedules established by the said judges, on and after Novem-
ber 8, 1966, will sit as the Orphans' Court for said county, so that
there will be thereafter only one judge at any one time sitting as the
Orphans' Court for Montgomery County; now therefore,
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 287A and 287B be and they are hereby added to
Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement
Volume), title "Testamentary Law," subtitle "Orphans' Court," to
follow immediately after Section 287 thereof and to read as follows:
287A.
Whenever reference is made in this Article to the chief justice
or the chief judge of the Orphans' Court of any county there shall
be meant thereby, with regard to Montgomery County, the Judge
of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County then sitting as the
Orphans' Court for Montgomery County.
287B.
Whenever reference is made in any Section of this Article to
the judges of the Orphans' Court in plural number it shall be under-
stood that, with respect to Montgomery County, such reference
shall be to the Judge of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County
then sitting as the Orphans' Court for Montgomery County, unless
such Section shall otherwise specifically provide.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
November 8, 1966.
