the classified service and subject generally to all privileges and re-
sponsibilities provided in this article.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
January 1, 1967, subject to the ratification by the voters of Mary-
land at the general election of 1966 of statewide and congressional
candidates of the proposed amendment to Section 26 of Article IV
of the Maryland Constitution, as proposed by Chapter........the Acts
of 1966 (H.B.........).

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 255 (e)
of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Supple-
ment), title "Testamentary Law," subtitle "Orphans' Court"; to
add new Section 255 (x) to said Article, to follow immediately after
Section 255 (w); to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
37 (f) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964
Replacement Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation and
Duties"; to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40(g)
of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Supple-
ment), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact," subtitle
"State's Attorney"; to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Section 108 (6) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle
"Trial Magistrates System"; and to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, Section 51 (f) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Volume), title "County Commissioners," subtitle
"County Treasurers," to provide changes in salaries and allowances
for expenses for certain elected officials in Carroll County and to
authorize the County Commissioners to provide an office and/or
stenographer for the State's Attorney and providing that at any
time both the State's Attorney and the Circuit Judge feel it neces-
sary, an assistant State's Attorney may be appointed and providing
for the manner of his compensation and generally dealing with the
law as it concerns officials in Carroll County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

Court," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments; that new Section 255(x) be and it is hereby added to said
Article, to follow immediately after Section 255(w); that Section
