Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

AN ACT to repeal Sections 87-91, inclusive, of Article 19 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's
County", sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables", repealing
obsolete and unnecessary local laws of St. Mary's County concern-
ing justices of the peace and constables and their fees and powers
and duties.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 87-91, inclusive, of Article 19 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County",
sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables", be and they are
hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

(Senate Bill 187)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 77B (a)
of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title "Fire Tax", as said
section and sub-title were enacted by Chapter 759 of the Acts of
1957, amending the local laws concerning a fire tax in St. Mary's
County in order to clarify and correct the provisions relating to
the applicability of such laws.

Whereas, the fire tax laws of St. Mary's County as enacted by
Chapter 759 of 1957, provided that these laws shall apply in the
Second, Eighth, and Ninth Election Districts; and

Whereas, in the referenda on the applicability of this Act, it was
rejected by the voters in the Second and Ninth Election Districts
and ratified by the voters in the Eighth Election District; and

Whereas, the law should be clarified accordingly to show its
present application, now therefore
