ment, being Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Charles County", sub-title "Parks and Recreation",
amending the laws concerning parks and recreation in Charles
County with particular respect to the annual appropriation there-
for by the Board of County Commissioners of Charles County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 222 A (d) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Charles
County (1964 Supplement, being Article 9 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County", sub-title "Parks
and Recreation", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

222A.

(d) The Board, with the approval of the County Commissioners,
may accept real and personal property of all kinds, suitable for public
parks, open space programs, and recreational purposes, legal title
to which shall always be in the Board of County Commissioners.
The County Commissioners shall appropriate in the annual budget
of the County not less than [$6,000 nor more than $10,000] $40,000
to defray the expenses of the Board, to pay the salary of the director,
to purchase land, construct improvements, and defray expenses for
the maintenance of park and recreation areas under the control of
the Board and for the support of the park and recreational programs.
The acquisition of property, with the approval of the County Com-
missioners, may be by purchase, condemnation, grant, bequest,
devise, or lease of the fee or any lessor interest, development right,
assignment, covenant or other contractual right necessary for park
and recreation programs. The County Commissioners have the power
to sell or in any manner dispose of these parks and recreational
properties subject to the approval of the Charles County Board of
Parks and Recreation.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 665
(Senate Bill 593)

AN ACT to add new Section 45A to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Charles County (1959 Edition, being Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County", sub-title
"County Commissioners", to follow immediately after Section 45
thereof, to establish a salary board to review the salaries paid to
certain employees of Charles County and to authorize the board
to make changes in such salaries subject to a limitation as to
amount.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 45A be and it is hereby added to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Charles County (1959 Edition, being Article 9 of the
