or city wherein such complaint has been filed, that the lessor may
elect, ordering him to cause said lessor to have again and repossess
said premises by putting him (or his duly qualified agent or attorney
for his benefit) in possession thereof, and for that purpose to remove
from said premises, by force if necessary, all the furniture, imple-
ments, tools', goods, effects or other chattels of every description
whatsoever belonging to said tenant, or to any person claiming or
holding by or under said tenant.

The tenant may appeal from the judgment of the justice of the
peace to the circuit court for any county or the Baltimore City Court,
as the case may be, at any time within two days from the rendition of
such judgment; the tenant in order to stay any execution of the
judgment, shall give a bond to the landlord with one or more sureties,
who are owners of sufficient leasehold or real estate in the State of
Maryland, with condition to prosecute the appeal with effect, and
answer to the landlord, his executors, administrators, in all costs
and damages mentioned in the judgment, and such other damages
as shall be incurred and sustained by reason of said appeal; the
aforesaid bond shall not affect in any manner the right of the lessor
to proceed against said tenant, assignee or undertenant for any and
all rents that may become due and payable to the lessor after the
rendition of said judgment.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
January 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 623
(Senate Bill 7)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 220 (a)
of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supple-
ment), title "Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 20. Sources
and Distribution of Income," amending the laws concerning the
State's share of current expenses in the public schools in order
to change references therein to the assessed valuation of real
property.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 220 (a) of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1964 Supplement), title "Public Education," subtitle
"Chapter 20. Sources and Distribution of Income," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

220.

(a) (1) "Professional staff members" includes all persons em-
ployed by the various counties who are certificated by the State
Superintendent of Schools or who hold equivalent status in the
City of Baltimore as determined by the State Department of
Education.
