AN ACT to add new Section 60A to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Charles County (1959 Edition, being Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County" sub-title
"Waterways Fund", to follow immediately after Section 60 thereof,
as added by Chapter 574 of the Acts of 1959; to authorize the
County Commissioners of Charles County to set aside a fund
for the purpose of improving waterways in the county and specify-
ing the maximum county contribution thereto.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 60A be and it is hereby added to the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Charles County (1959 Edition, being Article 9 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County",
sub-title "Waterways Fund", to follow immediately after Section 60
thereof, as added by Chapter 574 of the Acts of 1959, and to read as
follows:
60 A.
The County Commissioners are hereby authorized to set aside out
of the general funds of the county a sum not to exceed twenty thou-
sand dollars ($20,000) to be known as the Waterways Fund and to
be used for the purpose of improving waterways in the county. The
Fund shall also consist of all State or Federal aid paid to the county
for this purpose.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.
SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASURE
AND NECESSARY FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION OF
THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, AND HAVING BEEN
PASSED BY A YEA AND NAY VOTE SUPPORTED BY THREE-
FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH OF THE
TWO HOUSES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THE SAME
SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF ITS PASSAGE.
