9B.

WHENEVER ANY PROPERTY BECOMES EXEMPT FROM
ASSESSMENT AND TAXATION BY LAW MADE EFFECTIVE
ON OR AFTER JUNE 1, 1965, UNLESS OTHERWISE PRO-
VIDED IN THE LAW ESTABLISHING ITS EXEMPTION, THE
EXEMPTION SHALL BE ESTABLISHED FROM AND AFTER
THE DATE OF FINALITY NEXT SUCCEEDING THE EFFEC-
TIVE DATE OF SAID LAW.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

(Senate Bill 510)

AN ACT to repeal, Sections 344 and 347 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Caroline County, being Article 6 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Caroline County", sub-title
"Jurors", as last amended by Chapter 74 of the Acts of 1941; and
to enact new Section 344 to stand in the place of repealed Section
344; combining and simplifying the provisions of the repealed sec-
tions to accord with the established existing use of the marble
system of drawing jurors in Caroline County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 344 and 347 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Caro-
line County, being Article 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Caroline County", sub-title "Jurors", as last amended
by Chapter 74 of the Acts of 1941; be and they are hereby repealed,
and that new Section 344 be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof,
to stand in the place of Section 344 repealed, and to read as follows:

344.

Jurors shall be drawn as follows: 150 marbles, numbered to cor-
respond with the names on the list selected and certified as provided
in Section 343, shall be placed in a box of suitable size, divided into
compartments corresponding to the election districts of Caroline
County. Each marble corresponding to a name on the list shall go
into the compartment corresponding to the election district where the
person so named resides. The judge or judges shall then, in the pres-
ence of the members of the bar and such other persons who may at-
tend, cause the clerk or one of his deputies, who shall not have been
present at the drawing of the list as in Section 343, to draw a number
of marbles, proportionate to the population of the corresponding elec-
tion district, as set forth in Section 343, to be drawn from each com-
partment, to a total of 48, and in such manner that the person draw-
ing cannot see the numbers before drawing and does not know which
