MARYLAND AS NATIONAL GUARD ON-SITE TECHNICIANS
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF 32 U.S.C.A. 709 AND
WHO ARE UNDER THE CONTROL OR JURIS- Motion of the
Military Department, State of Maryland, AND WHO ARE ACTING
IN SUCH CAPACITY, are hereby invested, in and for such THE
military area to which assigned, with the same police power, author-
ity and status, with respect to criminal matters and the enforcement
of the law relating thereto, as Sheriffs, Constables, Police or Peace
Officers possess and exercise in their respective jurisdictions; and all
such persons shall also have all the immunities and matters of de-
fense now available, or such as hereafter may be made available, to
Sheriffs, Constables, Police or Peace Officers, in any suit, criminal
or civil, brought against them in consequence of acts done in the
course of their employment and duty.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 578 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition), being
Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Baltimore City", sub-title "Police Commissioner", sub-heading
"Physicians to the Police Force", amending the laws concerning
physicians in the Police Department of Baltimore City, in order to
increase the fees payable for certain examinations and relating
generally to such fees.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 578 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore
City (1949 Edition), being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Police Commis-
sioner", sub-heading "Physicians to the Police Force", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Each physician making said examination required under the pre-
vious sections shall receive therefor a fee of [ten] twenty dollars
for each such case, to be paid by the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore; IN SUCH AMOUNT AS MAY BE PROVIDED FROM
TIME TO TIME IN THE ANNUAL ORDINANCE OF ESTI-
MATES; provided, however, that no such fee shall be paid unless
the bill rendered therefor shall be certified to by the police magistrate
