AN ACT to add new Section 159A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Harford County (1957 Edition, being Article 13 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Harford County", to follow
immediately after Section 159 thereof, and to be under the new
sub-title "Burnings", to authorize the County Commissioners of
Harford County by ordinance or resolution to adopt regulations
relating to burning in the county in conformance with regulations
adopted by the State Department of Forests and Parks, to provide
for enforcement of such an ordinance or resolution, and to regulate
burning during critical fire periods in the county.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 159A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Harford County (1957 Edition, being Article 13
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Harford
County", to follow immediately after Section 159 thereof, to be under
the new sub-title "Burnings", and to read as follows:
Burnings
159A. (a) The County Commissioners are authorized to adopt
an ordinance or resolution regulating burning in the county sub-
stantially in conformance with Regulation 4 as adopted by the State
Department of Forests and Parks. The ordinance or resolution is
effective within incorporated towns in the county, and authorizes
any enforcement officer in the county to stop any burning in violation
of the ordinance or resolution.
(b) The County Commissioners are further authorized by ordi-
nance or resolution to prohibit any burning in the county during
critical fire index periods.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.
