based on a maximum gross weight of 17,000 pounds, as set forth in
subsection (f) (1) of this section, regardless of the shipping weight
of the chassis and battery as certified by the manufacturer.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 439
(House Bill 853)

AN ACT to repeal Section 20(k) of Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement), title
"Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses—
Class C (on sale—clubs)," and to enact a new Section 20 (k) of
said Article of said Code in lieu thereof to stand in the place of
the section repealed and to be under the same subtitle, to provide
for the issuance in Prince George's County of Class C licenses to
veterans organizations, fraternal and service organizations, yacht
clubs and golf and country clubs, establishing the annual fee for
such a license and setting the standards therefor and relating
generally to Class C licenses in Prince George's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 20(k) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition, 1964 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages," sub-
title "Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses—Class C (on sale—clubs),"
be and it is hereby repealed; and that a new Section 20(k) be and
it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the
Section so repealed and to be under the same subtitle, and to read as
follows:

20.

(k) (1) In Prince George's County such a license shall be issued
to any local unit of a nationwide bona fide non-profit organization
or club composed solely of members who served in the armed forces
of the United States in any war in which the United States has en-
gaged, having a charter from a national veterans' organization prior
to the time of making application for such a license, and having a
bona fide membership of not less than one hundred (100) persons
and dues of not less than five dollars ($5.00) per annum per person,
which organization or club operates solely for the use of its own
members and their guests when accompanied by such members, and
meets in a clubhouse principally used for no other purpose; the fee
for such a license shall be three hundred dollars ($300.00) annually.

(2) In addition, a special Class C license shall be issued
to any
LOCAL UNIT OF A lodge or chapter of any bona
fide non-profit and nationwide fraternal or service organization
composed solely of members duly elected and initiated in ac-
cordance with the rites and customs of such fraternal or ser-
vice organization, in existence and operating in Prince George's
